color blocking Color blocking is an easy technique that produces stunning scrapbook layouts. While basic color blocking techniques are demonstrated, Stephanie Rahmatulla says its easy to add colors and blocks as you master the skill.
Select two colors of paper that coordinate with your photos.
Draw two lines on your page to divide it into quadrants (sections do not have to be equal).
Meaure the segments, then record the measurements -- and the color you want that block to be -- within each quadrant.
Cut paper to measurements and adhere to the proper quadrant.
After blocking is completed, add photos as desired.
Tip: As you perfect your technique, experiment with more than two colors -- and more than four blocks. Use cropped photos as blocks or sections for a more advanced look.
